DESCRIPTION

To be a clown is to be more human. As people grow up, they become socialized to hide the ways in which they are the most human, the most vulnerable, the most beautiful. They begin to believe that if they hide their vulnerability, then the world cannot hurt them.

The work of rediscovering your clown is the process of embracing your vulnerability and excavating the parts of you that are most interested in pleasure and in fun. We all recognize that part of ourselves when it shows up and know how often it gets pushed aside to deal with our big adult responsibilities. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to set your big adult brain and obligations aside for a few hours, and to give more value to your clown and to play.

How do we do this? We begin by getting out of our heads and into our bodies. From there, we will explore with curiosity, and let our curiosity lead us to surprising places. When we see people really playing, their beautiful vulnerability and appetite for pleasure is where we will see their clown begin to peek out.
