WHAT TO EXPECT:

Movement Memory Markings is a living alternative to a figure-drawing spectacle. Instead of still life, the environment breathes. Participants receive a simple three-step prompt, guiding them to follow the flow of what they witness and feel. It’s a gentle invitation to sit inside a world of Black hair, Black girl beauty, sisterhood, and fashion. Before you: three queer-bodied baddies cradled in a vessel of mirrors and reflective materials—moving, refracting, multiplying themselves in light.

You don’t just draw what you see.

You mark what moves you

Watercolor materials and waterproof ink pens + water color paper provided! Please bring your own materials that may support your personal practice.

This is open to all visual arts including but not limited to illustrators, painters, muralists, collage artists, designers of space and set, fashion designers, hairstylist, and Make-up Artist. Spectating and Intentional Presence Welcome!

“what is form” and “how does it move” Reflection : “You go to the ocean to heal”
